The Crisis in Local Journalism: Are Nonprofits the Answer?
On November 19, 2019, Shapiro Arato Bach partner Cynthia Arato will moderate the New York State Bar Association’s forum The Crisis in Local Journalism: Are Nonprofits the Answer? The forum is part of the bar association’s Task Force on Free Expression in the Digital Age, which Arato co-chairs with David McCraw, Deputy General Counsel of The New York Times. Panelists will discuss the possibilities and limitations of nonprofit journalism as a means of filling the gap left by the decline in traditional journalism.
