Jacob’s practice focuses on appellate advocacy, white-collar criminal defense, intellectual property litigation, and complex commercial litigation.  Prior to joining Shapiro Arato Bach LLP in September 2017, Jacob clerked for a federal appellate judge and worked as an associate at Latham & Watkins LLP.

Representative Matters

  • Lead associate on breach of contract bench trial in the Southern District of New York, resulting in judgment for client.
  • Lead associate in litigation defending biotechnology company against allegations of trade secret misappropriation.
  • Advise and counsel clients on trademark prosecution and protection.
  • Member of team representing prominent media figure in labor and employment litigation.
  • Member of team that represented biotechnology executive in confidential arbitration, resulting in judgment for client on all claims of trade secret misappropriation.
  • Co-authored briefs before the New York Court of Appeals, D.C. Circuit, and Second Circuit in variety of matters, including appeal of a murder conviction, resulting in unanimous affirmance of vacatur of the conviction, challenge to the Commission on Presidential Debates’ sponsorship of general election presidential debates, and wire-fraud and insider-trading convictions.
